Does my bearded dragon have a URI?

I live in Japan, where reptiles are not popular.

There aren't many places where you can see reptiles.

I get the medicine from a veterinarian who specializes in reptiles.

How long does it take for a URI to heal?

Hi there ! Sorry your beardie is having trouble. How long has this been happening, when did it start and how often does he shake his head like that ? I thnk that Karrie is right, seems like possibly something stuck way down his throat. Might need to have a vet put a scope down his throat to see if there's something obstructing his airway.

Burping? It's been about a month since I've seen him do it... I don't remember. I've only seen him shake his head twice in the past. I haven't seen him since then.

I took him to the vet, he was given stomach medicine, and then antibiotics, he is still on antibiotics.

I will take out the water later. She is still eating without any problems. When I feed her, I can see food around her throat for a moment. Is this normal? I keep it completely dark at night, but she still makes noises and doesn't seem to be sleeping properly.

Yes. He is still burping and eating without any problems.

Sometimes there's sound and sometimes there's no sound.

Okay, I'll go buy some when I have the day off work.
Is URI expected? Is it due to another factor? Is it aspiration? I remembered looking at past photos and doing things like that, but I think it started happening more frequently after I started giving him pellets. I also told my wife, and she said that he spat out the carrots he had eaten only once. There was no blood in his stool.

My memory is hazy and I can't remember if it happened before or after I gave him the pellets. I'm wondering whether to do a second pinion. I think it would be better to do it after he finishes his current medication.

Hello & Welcome from Japan!

How is your boy doing?
As far as the pellets go, a lot of them tend to have genetically modified ingredients in them & can often
cause health issues. Have you stopped feeding them since he had trouble breathing, etc?
As Karrie suggested, getting a digital probe to measure the temperatures would be helpful in case he
isn't getting warm enough.

I respect America's attitude towards bearded dragons. Yes, I have stopped giving them to her. She is still burping and has hardened saliva around her mouth.

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
