So I let my bearded dragon out of his cage to roam around in my room. I literally looked at my phone for about 30 seconds and he completely disappeared. I searched every square inch of my house, under, in, on top of, and behind literally everything, for the past 7 hours and still haven't found him. I turned on all the lights hoping he'd wake up and start running around somewhere but he hasn't. There is no way he could've gotten outside because all the doors have been shut since he disappeared. I'm gonna put a cup of worms in front of his enclosure hoping it lures him to magically show up. I have to find him by tonight!!! Pest control is scheduled to spray in my house tomorrow morning!! Is there anything else anyone can think of that would work?
Try setting up a hot spot in the room you lost him in. If you can't find him, cancel the pest control tomorrow unless you want him to die. Keep looking for him! Could he have gotten into an airvent or a cupboard or something? They'll hide anywhere. Be careful with dishwashers, washing machines, etc.. until you find him.
Oh dear, I hope you find him! They are sneaky & love to hide to take naps. Look under
entertainment centers where wires & cables are because it is warm there. Could he have
climbed into a laundry basket, etc?
I agree, cancel the pest control because he wont make it through that.
Thanks for the help guys!! I found him. He went under a really small hole I'm surprised he fit under that led him behind the dishwasher and he eventually came out at like 1 am!lol. He wasn't hurt any, just dirty and doesn't want to sleep now! I let him heat up for a few minutes then turned his lights off!
check out the video, "How To Make Beardie Harnesses", by Pam Kidd, on youtube.com
You will need acrylic pony beads and paracord. You can get both of these from Hobby Lobby. The beads MUST be 7mm by 11mm.
I use several beads for extra snugness, rather than the 2 she suggests.
They are easy to make, and inexpensive.
When you have your dragon roaming around, make sure they are on a very long leash, first. My Elvis did the same thing. He is no longer is allowed to run around without his harness on! lol
Mushu6262, this is a great news that you found him. As you mentioned you have called a pest control professional for exterminating your home and you also have a bearded dragon, make sure that the exterminator you are calling should be using eco-friendly chemicals that should not harm your bearded dragon. If you have not asked the exterminator yet, you should probably ask him the next time before the pest control guy starts exterminating your home. There are several companies like Exterminator New Haven County CT that use eco-friendly chemical solutions that do not harm anyone and also have years of experience. You can also look for some similar companies online.
