Hey there, im in Australia
At the moment its a lil cold over here, compared to normally wonderin if there are any special things i need to do at this time of year...
Well onto the important point!!
I have found small growth like things on the underside of my male beardie between his legs.
They look like icicle like points forming from the skin, some are longer than others
Iv never noticed these before, wondering if it might be something to do with its urine/urea/sexual hormones excretion??
Pores; nothing to worry about. It's that time of year again; breeding season! Sounds like your beardie may be approaching sexual maturity.
 I've got an adolescent beardie, too.
There's no need to change plans in cooler weather; keep the temps normal. You're beardie shouldn't be affected. In the winter, they do "brumate", which is a state of partial hibernation, but it is due to barometric pressure drops, not temperature drops.
As herpfreak mentioned....those are femoral pores. If you click on this link, there is a picture of the pores on the bottom right photo. http://www.lihs.org/files/caresheets/P_vitticeps.htm Males generally have larger pores on their underside compared to females. They can become quite large also.
If they seem to protrude somewhat and get like a waxy substance in them, no need to worry, those are femoral plugs and will not hurt your beardie. If he seems uncomfortable you can give him warm water soaks to help relieve pain.
As for the cold weather you are having, the only thing you need to worry about is the temps at night. If the temps in his viv fall below 65*F degrees, then you will need to add heat. You can use a CHE(ceramic heat emitter) which produces heat, but no light.
Thanks heaps everyone..all really helpful and extended my knowlegde..i hope he'll be ok, just keeping a close on on him atm n will get him and his misses into a bath regularly...
Thanks again..
Great site all, need more of these around.. :study:
