Hey everyone so i recently found out my bearded dragon is actually a type of dragon called Lawsons bearded dragon. They only get up to around 12 in which explains Ollie's growth rate.If your beardy is not growing that much around the the age of 1 year old then look into him/her being a Lawson dragon. This type of dragon is easy to get and not know about, make sure you ask the breeder or place you got him/her first and if they don't know try to find things about your beardy that match the types description. Anyway that's all for now PM me if you have anything to ask or tell me, thanks!
As I mentioned in my message I wouldn't have guessed he is a Lawson's due to his head shape and head spikes. They tend to have a more narrow head shape without the spikes as is described in the diagram in this thread https://www.beardeddragon.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1800704
If you can post some more photos of him it would help us to identify his type.
Madi, I'd like to see the pictures. It actually would be VERY uncommon to accidentally get a Lawson's, [ or Rankin's ] because they are a specialty morph and not many out there. Many people mistakenly conclude or are told they have a Lawson's or Rankin's when it is just a small, slow growing beardie.
