Our beardie, Sage, has a wound on her tail that is causing us concern. It's been around for a couple weeks doesn't seem to be healing.
As far as we know nothing happened to her. There are no other lizards in her enclosure, and she didn't suffer any trauma. We did find a few roaches running around in her cage when we cleaned it out today.
After looking at a lot of posts about skin issues, we're planning on putting honey on it. But we wanted to make sure that there wasn't any thing else we should do about it.
I'd be blaming the rogue roaches in the tank if she's not been injured by another dragon , and no one has accidentially injured the tail by dropping something heavy with a sharp edge on it on the tail or by accidentially jamming the tail in a sliding or swing open door.
If you use honey, make sure it is RAW Honey, the pasteurization process takes out the healing properties.
I agree, It also looks like the roaches did this. never just let any insects run loose unless you are counting them when you put the in and, counting while they are being eaten. Remove the ones that aren't eaten ASAP.
