Okay so usually Papi's poos just look like logs and white stuff and liquid.
Today he got a little freaked in the bath because my kids were too much in his face and he pooped. THis poop dissolved quickly into salad, veggies and parts of superworms.
It happens sometimes. Our girl does this occasionally... looks normal at first and then a bunch of less digested matter that sort of "spatters about" her bath tub. I make sure to double check basking temps, and also make sure that she gets nice long baths for a few days, to up hydration. We had a bout of this a couple of weeks ago (a few days in a row), and I realized that since she started pooping ONLY in the bath, her baths were sometimes ending up short (once she poops, she's outta there and sometimes that's fairly early in the bath--within a few minutes), and perhaps she was getting as hydrated as she should have been. So now, I "poop her" in the small Rubbermaid tub, and right after transfer her to the big tub for a nice long soak/swim. Also, because we'd gone from very hot weather (where I had to raise the basking bulb--MVB), to a cooling trend, I did find that her basking temps were a tad low--not overly so, but possibly enough to affect thorough digestion so I adjusted the bulb down a bit and since, all poop has been ok.
I've got him basking under an incandescent bulb, but we're still using a stick on thermometer. I know, I know, I know. It always shows right around 100 but I've been reading they can be off by 20 degrees.
So. Now I"m going to look at the hardware store for a temp gun. I REALLY do not have a dime to spend on something expensive, though.

Temp guns tend to be pricey. As an option, you can pick up a "digital with probe" thermometer. You will likely save a bit, and they are really very easy to use as well. WalMart carries a good, inexpensive one made by Acu-Rite for about $12.
Em is right, if you're tight on money, the AcuRite is the way to go.
Although tempguns are great. I've got the PE-1 and I love it. I use it for measure temps in my room while Budo is roaming, temps of his bathwater, for his enclosure, and for the snakes' enclosures.
However, you won't be able to find one at a hardware store. The only place [as far as I know] to buy a tempgun is online.
If you have a Harbor Freight store near you and you want a temp gun, they have them for about $15-18.00 and work great. I have had mine for 3 years without any issues.
Also, undigested poop is a symptom of pinworms from my experience if their basking temps are correct and they are basking.
