i just rescued Bindi a few weeks ago and ive recently noticed that some of her poops have cricket parts in them. they are not all like this but ever once in a while, undigested crickets! im making an appointment at the herp vet for her just to make sure she is healthy because she wasnt well taken care of before i got her, but any insight on this until we make it out there would be greatly appreciated. thanks
well i have one stick on thermometer dial on the hot side, one stick on color changie strip thing in the cool side, i use those just for general reads. i use a pe1 temp gun to take exact measurements though. her basking spot is usually around 104-107 and the cool side is in the high 70's low 80's. she has a repti sun 10.0 uvb strip bulb and a zoo med repti 100w basking bulb. ive started leaving on her red night bulb too though to bring the temps up a little higher. her poops are very regular, she goes around twice a day and sometimes three times! mostly they are normal but, like i said, once in a while they have undigested bug in them.
how old is she? some beardie just like it a tad hotter, see if you can raise the basking spot up a fraction to increase the temps just by a few degrees hopefully that will make a difference.
i rescued her so i dont know her exact age but i was told she is a little over a year. i have been keeping on her basking light and her night light to raise the temps a bit, about 108-112. her vet appointment is today so ill keep you updated. thanks for the concern
although keeping the temps up at night may be a good idea, the basking bulb will be keeping her up (although she looks asleep it wont be the deep sleep they need) Try getting a ceramic heat emmitter instead.
i got her heat emitter in the mail two days ago so now her basking temps are the same all day and night, will that disrupt her sleeping patterns too? i am going to pick up her prescriptions from the vet this afternoon, she has hook worms, pin worms and coccidia!!!!!!!! how do they contract these parasites? after they are gone i dont want her contracting them again, my poor baby. other than that, our vet said that she was in great shape and was surprised she grew to the size she did after i explained the living conditions she was in prior to her rescue. 15in and 310 (i dont know the unit of weight they used).
