skittles' tail and head has been extremely dull for the past week and a half, a few scales came off his mouth but after that he just stopped. i give him bathes every second day while hes in shed mode, so he cant really be dehydrated. i dont recall sheddig taking this long with him, is this normal?
As beardies get older, sheds take longer. Also, in the winter the air is typically a bit drier. You could try adding a very small dish of water in the tank to slightly increase humidity to help his shed, and increase to daily baths. You can also mist him several times a day (outside his tank, of course).
i dont have my temp gun with me at the moment but nothings changed inside the tank, basking spot is 103, warm side is 87 and cool side is 70.
i use repticarpet, the lights are reptisun 10.0 tube and a 100 watt ceramic heatbulb. i feed him collard greens, crickets, superworms and once in awhile some waxworms. im not sure of his age, but i think he may be 5-6 months old. YES, he has shed before, and no stress marks at all
As has already been said some sheds take longer then others and sometimes they look like their going to shed but don't. Keep him well hydrated and all his temps where they are.
Baths are a good way to keep hydration up so I recommend one every 1-2 days for the next while.
