I am planning on taking my 4 month old on a 12-16 hour trip tomorrow (the person that usually watches over him is also going out of town, so we have no other option). I have purchased a pet carrier for him to relax in and also some hand warmers. I am bringing his blanket (which he adores!) and a few towels to wrap the hand warmers in (to prevent burns or overheating). I am planning on feeding him a few hours before we leave, leaving him 2 or more hours to bask. Is there anything I may be forgetting? I am taking his complete setup and lighting fixtures along, so he will have everything he needs there. Anything else I may need to put into the carrier?
It sounds like you're in good shape. The carrier should be helpful. They do well at car temps so you may only need the hand warmers if you stop for a meal and need to leave him for a bit. I've also found it helpful to carry a bag with cleaning supplies and some spare towels/blankets for the carrier to clean up any messes. Some of them do better than others with travel but I've had pretty good experience so hopefully you won't run into any issues along the way.

Sounds good! We’ve taken shorter trips before and he’s done very well. He’ll cuddle and fall asleep. Thank you for your help!
