Hi!
I am currently working on making a travel setup for Malkaris, who just turned 5 months old, so I can bring him with me while I visit my out of state relatives. I just bought this collapsible enclosure for him, so I don't have to try and fit his heavy 40-gallon tank in my car again, and risk breaking it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what other supplies I should use to make my little buddy as comfortable as possible while he's traveling / away from home? (E.g., heat lamp, UVB, substrate, etc.)

Also, if anyone has advice on travel routines, I would be interested in hearing those as well. I really don't want to stress the little guy out any more than is absolutely necessary.

Thanks!

Hot hands hand warmers just in case you need extra heat. Some kind of night time setup if you have to stay in a hotel (heat emitter and some way to set it up safely. Plenty of paper towels to clean up poops. (Car rides seem to vibrate the poop right outta them lol)

Hand warmers are good to have, but I prefer the reptile shipping ones produced by Uniheat. They are designed to run slightly cooler, so much less burn risk, and they tend to stay warm for several days. I've used these for camping trips and they are great. Another suggestion is a soft sided car carrier that can clip to a seatbelt. These provide a comfortable spot in the car but also make moving them around much easier and can act as a shelter for them while away. I have an Oxgord pet carrier, but there are several variations which all look pretty similar. Aside from that, a tote bin to carry things like cleaning supplies/paper towels, adjustable lamp stands, dome fixtures, timers, power strips, and other accessories like rock hides or basking logs etc. is helpful to have.

Thanks! those are good suggestions. I will look into a hand warmer type heating set up for in the car, and see if I can find a comfortable carrier for him.

Oh how fun! Was looking exactly for a thread like this. Love the suggestions of hand warmers, of course heat is key to our dragons comfort, and your collapsible cage looks ideal.
