Two of my girls are 6months and 15' right now. I will be ordering Supers. What is the rule of thumb when making the transition. They have never had them before. How many should I let them eat at first to make sure they are digesting them properly? Once I see that thay are digesting them ok does the same rule apply as much as they want in an x amount of time? Or is there more of a set number to feed per day?
Make sure you start them off slow, give them two or so the first day and then watch for their next poo to make sure it was digested okay. Some shell pieces are okay, but you dont' want to see intact pieces of worm coming through. If it's okay, then gradually increase the number they get by a few every day until you hit whatever your goal number is.
As far as amount, there doesnt' seem to be a clear concensus. Some feel that you should limit a young dragon to 10-20 supers a day and fill them other with other bugs if/when they're still hungry after that, while others say to let them eat their fill on supers like you would with any other bug.
