Just wondering about some things you give you beardies to entertain themselves?
I was checking out hamster balls, hammocks, etc and wondered what everyone else has had successes with... because im sure some things just fail epically for entertainment value haha.
Toys for a beardie are food LOL seriously though, they are curious and inquisitive but, they lack a certain process that gives them satisfaction from a ball or such. The best time my dragons have is just letting them run around the room or house. They get to smell all sorts of things and try and get into stuff, this is the meaning of fun for them.
How about a tiny hamster ball to let him run around in? I want him to run around in my room - but I dont want him to sneak out under the door. Until he gets bigger to the point where he wont fit under the door, I will have to put him in something - otherwise there is a risk involved.
You think he would enjoy running around in that? Currently I just take him out and let him run all over me. If he pounces to the chair, desk, rarely the floor if he gets away from me, then I pick him back up and place him on my lap/chest. I want him to get more exercise than just running around on me. You think a hamster ball would do it? Its just a small 5 inch hamster ball so I dont think he would have a problem pushing it.
Just to mention, there was a 7 year old who had got a toy lizard for their dragon. The dragon ended up eating whole, that toy, impressively enough lived through the ordeal too.
I'm with you noobie...not sure they really are into toys per se...ours seems to get the most pleasure out of roaming across the living room. Over time I've given her more and more freedom - I used to just let her run around on me and not be more than 2-3 feet away from me. The other day she got all the way across the living room...it was fun to watch her climb off the couch and dash her little lizard feet as fast as she could. We did this 3 or 4 times and she got plenty of exercise. My son tries to roll a ball around her to see if she'll play with it (like a dog) and I have told him I just don't think he's going to get any action from her. She doesn't even really seem to notice it rolling by her...
