Is my UVB tube light too close to the basking spot? It is 6-7 inches away.
However, it can get closer to it if it so desires. I am also worried that it finds a way to climb onto the UVB fixture. Could it potentially cause burns? I have read that having too much UVB can cause some serious illness. If anyone has any experience with this I would love to hear it.
6-8'' is the recommended distance from the UVB bulb, so you are fine. That said I have seen pics on beardies that received too much UVB. I believe the last instance involved someone that had multiple bulbs in their enclosure.
