First off, I would to thank all the people who helped me with my first question and concerns. I have a new question for you guys. How much is too much calcium and does it affect absorption in any way?
I'm asking this because I bought my Ridges a calcium powder and powdered the crickets i feed him. One day as i was cleaning his cage I found his poop very orangey and weird looking. I fed him some carrots and cabbages the day after so it was the the carrot that gave it color, but it did not explain the weird texture. It was a little wet looking but not really runny. I used to feed him carrots and cabbage every other weekend but this is the first time it happened. Thank you again for your help guys :study: :study: :study:

I'm asking this because I bought my Ridges a calcium powder and powdered the crickets i feed him. One day as i was cleaning his cage I found his poop very orangey <<< this can come from the veggies (carrots) and also from excess calcium in the bloodstream , in case of excess calcium ingestion (and also overdosing orally with synthetic VitD3) calcium precipitates in the urates as calcium oxalate crystals.
I believe this is easily reverseable by cutting back on the doseage of calcium given orally via calcium powder or liquid calcium.

Update as well. I picked up a poop that had the pellets in it. I don't think ridges is digesting his food properly. He had normal poops only when he is eating live crickets and just that.
Its best to have a supplement without D3 as they can overdose on it eventually. It also isn't benifical for them to have it orally for the D3, it can be used but for that one I'd say no more than 2x a week.
Basically you want a calcium without D3 so your beardie doesn't have a chance of overdosing at all.
If you use three supplements it should be something like this,
Calcium without D3 3x a week,
Calcium with D3 2x a week,
Multivitamins 2x a week.
Pelleted foods usually have a hard time being digested anyway so it's not a surprise you found it undigested. Pellets are pretty much crap they sell for money, theres not many good ones out there at all.
What are the basking temperatures in the tank currently & what type/brand of UVB Light
are you using for him?
I would just give calcium 1 time daily, 4-5 days per week if he is under a year old. For an
adult 2-3 times per week, on average.

75 in the cooler area and about 105-111 on the basking area. 10.0 UVB light and a 75 watt basking light. I bought those specific lights because of another forum that i had before this. I would cut back on the calcium tho and just see how his poop is doing. thank you for your input tho.

Don't toss the tub out.... note the expiry date == the life of the VitD3 in it , and set it aside til then or buy some PURE calcium (no VitD3) and dilute the VitD3 by mixing maybe 1/3 with VitD3 and 2/3 without together. Will last a long time.
