Hello, How is your dragon doing? What kind of calcium is she on, glubionate or is the ultigiene a particular brand? At that percentage of 23%, the calcium is very strong so it seems like too much of a dose to me. How long does the vet want her on that type of dose? Too high of calcium for too long can cause softening of the bones & nodules along the cervical bones & other calcium deposits as well as renal or heart failure. Please request information on the dosing. Calcium boosting is safe, most of the time, for short term at high doses but should not be exceeded by a couple of doses at high levels. Then, a lower maintenance level should be given. Let me check my medical books to double check on the dosing. The recommended dose if not dealing with metabolic bone disease but just maintenance is usually 1mg per KG of bodyweight. Dealing with metabolic bone disease dosing can be anywhere from 5mg per KG to slightly higher but for short duration just to bring up blood calcium levels. The meloxidyl dose should be ok, short term. Please monitor her urates for hardness & or discoloration. Tracie
