Hey
So my issue is with my 6 month beardie. She is more than 60 grams... She's a big one. I feed her live crickets twice a day and i have a bowl of greens and dried meal worms & Grasshoppers in her 40 gallon cage. She eats ALL of the dried insects. I am worried that she eats too much. She'll have about 30 crickets total in one day, AND all of the dried meal worms and grasshoppers (maybe about 40 small meal worms)... Do I let her continue this? is she just growing? or do I need to limit her dried food? Or the live crickets? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks
I would give more crickets and less of the dry food. Could also use it to see if she would take salad instead. Maybe mix a little of the dry in her greens.
Dry food is just that, dry - dragons should be getting most of their moisture from food.
I took her to the vet today and she is actually 119 grams! Shows you how little I think she is! They said that her eating all that protein at once caused a build up in her digestive system. But I agree with what you said, they need moisture form their food. They recommended baby food to help her pass the blockage.
