I’ve noticed that after I play with Boga outside of her enclosure, she tends to lie down as if she’s tired. Since I take her out after dinner, I thought it was because it was close to bed time. But today I had her out while her tank was cleaned and she laid down and turned down her hornworms. They’re her favorite and they’re treats, so normally she goes nuts for them, even falling off her hammock to get to them.
Is it normal for dragons to be tired after play? Weather shift? I’ve heard some reptiles “crash” after human interaction, but I don’t know what this means.
I've noticed that after they run around and get their fill of exploring they tend to find a cozy place to nap. If they have a portable basking light to return to, they sometimes do that instead but not always. It can be a matter of them feeling cold or tired from what I can tell. Either way just putting them back in their tanks for a while gets them back right after a while.
Yeah my beardie always finds a place to lay down, usually in a dark spot, sometimes even right when I get her out! Just try to encourage them to run around and play, but sometimes they are just not into it. It also depends on the month. It is around brumation season, and that means lazy beardies!
