Nova pooped for the first time since she laid her eggs and this is what came out. Is it busted egg.?! She hasn't eaten anything remotely yellow except for a few superworms, a few dubia and a hornworm and a few bites of salad. Do I need to take her to the emergency vet.?

It's possible. How is she acting right now? Has she been eating and generally normal since her laying?

I wouldn't worry too much if shes been acting fine. It's possible she had one or two eggs left that she didn't push through. How many did she lay?

She laid about 32-33 eggs about a week ago. She slept a *ton* and didn't really eat much the first day or two but since, she's been basking and will eat, at least, three roaches but she's been kinda meh, doesn't wanna be out or really run around and is black beard more often than not. How concerning is it if an egg(s) did bust inside her.?

Hello,

Wow, she laid a lot of eggs recently! It is somewhat normal for them to be tired after laying eggs. Though, it sounds like she may have had an egg or two left that she didn't lay.
If an egg burst internally, that can cause infection or peritonitis.
If she continues to black beard & not be as active as she should be, a vet visit would probably be a good idea to ensure there isn't an infection going on.
Let us know how she is doing.

Well, I took her to the vet yesterday because google says if they lay busted eggs, it's not good, vet asap. I call ahead and ask if there's an exotic to see nova, my bearded. I get told yes. I get down there, they triage her and the receptionist tells me the doc that's there doesn't do reptiles anymore, hasn't seen one in years and just kinda lost the knowledge and doesn't wanna give me wrong advice/info and gave me numbers to other vets. But these other vets aren't emergency 24hr, nor do they have an exotic doc. And then proceeds ro fell me the other exotic that's there, that we've seen numerous times in the past, doesn't do reptiles anymore either. My boyfriend called to talk to the office manager, ended up getting that first doc, who told him "i saw nova amd saw she was gravely ill and neded egg binding surgery asap and they couldnt do that this weekend. Wildly different than what she told me in office and died on that hill when he pointed out the stories didnt match up and no one said a word about surgery or her being "gravely ill". So our main exotic won't be back until Monday, that's when nova is being seen. 😮‍💨😮‍💨

She was a bit active yesterday, actually wanted out and ran around for a few minutes before pooping that and then ran around some more. But she is black beard more often than not still.

She seems okay today. She ate a couple superworms, pooped some, (which looked normal) and drank some water. She's been wanting to drink a ton of water lately and she's never really wanted to before.

She worked extra hard laying, poor thing is probably depleted of everything.

It seems that way. She's been pacing some today, wanting out to run and when I hold her, she clings like she's about to fall. She does have an appointment tomorrow afternoon so hopefully it's nothing

With that many eggs laid, it's possible that she just got tired and didn't push the last one out. This is especially likely if her second poo looked more normal. It would be expected for her to be a bit under the weather, but a normal healthy dragon would pick back up within a week or so after laying. Although, that is quite the huge clutch.

The black bearding is a concerning sign though, can you post a picture of her? Are you sure this is black bearding from stress/pain and not a hormonal response? Females can black beard too.

To be honest, I'm not sure. I have 3 girls, 3 boys and they all black beard at random times, for no real reason. But it seems nova gets like this most of the day, since she's laid her eggs, like something is bothering her.

Hello,

How is she doing today? She has a vet visit on Monday?
I hope it isn't serious. I am thinking she didn't quite get the last one out, as well but she does seem
to be stressed right now.
Try to keep her hydrated as best you can in case she is dehydrated. Claudiusx is right, females often
do black beard due to hormones but she shouldn't be black bearding all day long & be restless.
Let us know how the vet visit goes & how she is doing.

Yes her appointment is today. She's only recently started running around her tank and scratching to get out within the last few days. Before that, it was sleeping and loafing around. She isn't black *all* day, but a majority of it and when she isn't, it doesn't take much for her to be black. And she's doing a lot of those little non-existent poops. I picked her up and she.. pooped water.? Like it was all clear fluid, almost like she straight peed.

I took her to the vet and the vet said she still had a few more eggs so she gave her a shot of calcium, a shot of oxytocin and some fluids and wants us to give her two more calcium shots over the next two days and while I was I was waiting, nova laid three more eggs in my lap

Bless her heart, it's no wonder she was black bearding. That was a friggen huge clutch. Did they say that was all the eggs now?
She is bound to be exhausted 😔
