She ate a little bit yesterday but she really seems... bleh. She woke up, crawled out of bed and has been dozing stretched out on the floor and black bearded and even a bit streaky since yesterday. Dreki wasn't like that, aside from just being real tired and napping for the day -- is that normal.?Hello,
Maybe she wont lay anymore but it is likely she will. Sometimes egg laying can really take it out of them
if they have a lot of trouble. Definitely give extra calcium for her right now, to help build up her calcium
stores now.
Let us know how she is doing.

Okay, so since she's laid her eggs, she's been black beard, streaky and sleeping pretty much constantly and we noticed she's breathing kind of hard. All we have to go off of is Dreki, who had zero problems, napped for a day and ate like no one's business. Is all of these things an issue.? Should we call the vet in the morning to get her seen.? Can someone please just inject me with horse tranquilizer so I'll calm down.?¿ here is a video of the breathing in question.@AHBD OR @Claudiusx are probably the best to reach out to. Maybe pm them.
She may be black bearding because the whole ordeal scared and stressed her, or it might be residual pain/soreness from laying. My girls didn't either one do that. If she is still black bearding in the morning I'd probably head to the vet.Okay, so since she's laid her eggs, she's been black beard, streaky and sleeping pretty much constantly and we noticed she's breathing kind of hard. She's still spending most, if not all of her time, sleeping. That, and most of her time, her beard is still relatively dark. I don't know what's wrong with her but I just hope she's just still real tired.Hello,
Just checking to see how your girl is doing tonight?
I hope she is feeling more rested. Keep us posted on her.
Tracie
She lost about 100-150g, i believe, she went from 960 to like, 820ish.? She's eating a little, a few roaches a day. Yesterday she ate like four or five roaches and two superwoman and I think a hornworm. But she's not a fan of the calcium so she'll turn them away faster with the calcium. She's been drinking a bit, she drank a decent bit yesterday and today, but it's like some instinct takes over and she'd rather drag herself through her water bowl instead. she doesn't respond well to trying to give her critical care or anything, she's good at getting away and gets real stressed.Hello,
Have you been giving oral fluids & giving some nutritional slurries to help her out after her laying
eggs? Has her weight remained about the same?
Tracie
No, the fat pads on her head sank in quite a bit by the middle of her laying, Dreki's did the same when she laid. I circled them anf they do look sunken in a bit. But the pads under her arms and the base of her tail still look really good -- she has impressive side boob's. she does eat a couple bugs, but only a few. Should I be concerned with the black beard.? She's drinking water semi regularly now. She drank yesterday twice and the day before and she's suddenly wanting to drag herself through the water but when she does, her beard gets really black. It's so weird.Hello,
How is your girl doing today? That is normal for her to lose weight after laying. Are her fat pads
on her head looking good?
If her beard is still dark, that indicates some type of stress or that she isn't feeling 100%. A lot of them don't seem to like the Critical care. If she is eating insects then she most likely doesn't need much if any Critical care right now.
I hope she is feeling better soon!

You know, it's hard to say. I know they say if a beardie is black beard for no reason, something is wrong but I swear, all of ours do it and nothing is wrong. it might be, for maybe like an hour or something.? I'd say at the absolute most. Right now, she just got out of bed and is black beard. And she has been basking most, if not all, day. She wasn't right after laying, the first two or three days, she would lay in the floor, stretched out and sleep or be on the edge of her hide to where she wasn't really getting any hest. But she's been basking a good bit latelyHello,
It looks like part of the top of her head is going to shed.
Does her beard stay black for long periods of time or just a short period?
It doesn't appear that she has lost too much weight but of course after laying that is normal. She
is a big girl. You can keep her bug to a minimum right now.
If her beard stays black, you may need to get her into a vet in case something else is going on that
you aren't aware of.
Is she spending enough time basking right now?
