Nova is finally laying. She is straining so hard, her back legs come up off the ground and they start shaking violently. She did that several times before the egg came out. The eggs look good but she seems like she's really struggling. Here is a link to the video

@AHBD OR @Claudiusx are probably the best to reach out to. Maybe pm them.

I answered via p.m. Since all my dragons had layboxes I have seen the heads of many dragons while they layed eggs [ only viewing a bit at a time , not constant ] but never seen the rear when the eggs are pushed out. The do make some movements so this should be natural but if it was known that she was going to lay it would have been best if at all possible to have her where she had dug a cave in a pre made laybox.

She ended up laying almost 30, she's currently working on number 28, I think.? Maybe 29.? But she's been working on this clutch since about 12:30 and the last few hours, she'll lay an egg or two and seem like she's done, try to go to bed and then start to lay another egg. Is that a concern.?

What time is it where you are now ? It may be a longer laying time than usual but as long as she's getting them out that's good ! She's working very hard ! And I think you mentioned her weight as over 900 grams, please do her a huge health favor and feed her less , try to get a few hundred grams off of her over a period of time. Heavier dragons weighing over 700 grams [ except for very large ones in the 23 -24 " range ] may develop more health problems and have shorter life spans. Every dragon I've seen that was over 900 grams on this forum or any other in over 10 years that I've viewed b.d. forums has died young. Every single one. It's very unhealthy and those heavy females have lots of excess fat that makes it harder to push the eggs through.

Be sure to give her a warm 5 minute soak tomorrow to let her have a drink if she wants.

It's currently 11pm and she started at noon today. She's currently about 960 (not counting whatever weight she looses laying eggs) we got her when she was about 4 months and she was kinda chunky then and no matter what we did, she just ballooned. By the time she was almost a year, she was turning away food for days regularly. Even now, at two, we're lucky if she eats one or two bugs twice a week. But since she's been gravid, I think she's eaten two worms in the last month-ish. So we've been working to get her weight down, and she is very active. She loves running all through the house all the time.

Yes they can be way overfed when young and gain incredible amounts of weight. Then it takes a looooong time for the metabolism to reverse even once the feeding is readjusted.
But do the brst you can, I know you love her a lot . She's laid the eggs so that's what counts. I can't say what condition she'll be in after but so far so good.

She seems okay so far, a little stressed and definitely exhausted. I'm super worried about her vent. I know the inside looks gnarly and I know it's obviously not prolapsed but because I don't know much about them or what it's supposed to look like while egg laying, I'm convinced something is wrong; she's been going from kinda pushing, like she has to poop, to pushing hard for the last several minutes and I just.. I don't know enough about egg laying and it's reaaaaallly stressing me out.

You can dab a glob of raw honey in her vent with a Q tip, it has healing properties and will also lubricate for possible easier expulsion of any remaining eggs.

We may end up doing that. She laid one more egg about an hour ago and since then, she's been doing that kinda pushing thing, but not super hard, if that makes any sense, but nothing has come out.

Hello,

I am glad to hear she has laid all of those eggs. I'm sure she is very tired but at least she was able to get them laid.
Her muscles are likely still contracting so hopefully that will calm down for her.
As AHBD stated, a warm bath would be
nice for her. Try to keep her comfortable &
a little warmer overnight to help boost her
system.
Let us know how she is doing.

It seems like she was awake most of the night, kinda doing little pushes, she laid one more egg. She's still doing them. She definitely looks exhausted. I hope she's okay. 😫

She is a lil trooper!!!
She'll be ok 👌 it will probably take a few day resting, but she'll bounce back 🙂 I know you know, but be sure to load her up with calcium for a little while, her system will be depleted and looking to replace it. If she still doesn't eat well you can use critical care to get it in her. Just mix a little extra calcium right into the critical care. I've been doing that with Ruby for a while now, it seems to work ok. Ruby and Sinatra both will slurp it down anytime I offer it.

She laid one more egg earlier this morning but has sense calmed down. She's definitely exhausted and seems a little stressed, maybe. She's a bit streaky. But she ate a roach, two super worms and a fat hornworm and drank some water but got ahead of herself and kinda sucked it down too fast.😅

I'm glad she is done with it, now maybe you both can relax a bit 🤗
