It can spook or even scare them at first, talking to them and handling them the same as when inside can help and they'll figure it out. 3 of mine (Zen, Snickers, and Sinatra) took alot longer than the others to except being held while outside. Sinatra still is really jumpy. The 2 big factors are not wanting to stress them, or spooking them and have them maybe jump and get hurt or to jump and bolt off.
