Just want to confirm light times. We did the time change last night and of course are going to be headed into the cooler season. Gonzo's lights usually come on at about 5:30 am so she has time to wake up and I can get her fed before I leave for work at 6:30 am. (Usually the weekends we let her sleep until 8 or 9 am since I don't have to work) She would normally climb up in her tree to sleep by 6 or 7 pm even if I had her lights set for 8. She usually gets fed in the afternoon around 4 or 5 pm. Should her lighting schedule change during the winter months or should I keep the same hours off that we have since we got her? I cannot change the time the lights come on during the week to later since no one will be here to feed her after she gets up.
I try to keep the lights the same (they don't understand daylight savings and neither do I) but i opt to change the time during the evening and cut that short rather than digging into the morning because of routine and work schedule same as what you're running into. If lights are set to go off at 8 you can set them to go off at 7 if you want to shorten the day.
