What tiles are you using, if you don't mind me asking? I'm currently building a custom viv and I'm thinking slate flooring tiles, but they're pretty heavy for their size.
I laid my tiles over the reptile carpet I had. You could do grout, if only to keep smaller feeder insects out of the cracks, but if you fit the tiles carefully you don't need to. Plus if you just lay them in, you can remove them to clean them. Grout seems a bit overkill to me.
Hi I use cheap unglazed ceramic tile. They are like bathroom tile 6"*6". The unglazed tile are not too slippery for my dragon and help keep her nails trim. I did not grout them because its nice to take them out for a good viv cleaning when needed. Hope this helps. http://www.flickr.com/photos/22483876@N05/4277599434/
