Hello everyone I have decided to put in some tile because of what everyone is saying about sand. I havnt been able to find out if i should clean the tile in anyway or boil it or whatever. Can i just wipe them off good and then put them in or do i need to do something else with them?
I laid newspaper down to keep the tile from scrathcing the aquarium and then put the tile down, I bought my tile from Lowes and just washed it with some hot water.
I take it out once a week and clean it real well with soap and hot water
I have a 40 gal breeder I have Sam in and want to do the tile in it. I am torn between grouting the tile in or just laying it in there. What would you recommend more?
I laid mine in and then pushed some excavators sand inbetween the crack.....lol grouting? I unno....I find when the sand driedout it was hard as grout and it worked.......but grout would look cool.I just don't have the time
I think I will just go with laying the tile down on either newspaper or paper towels. That way when she out grows the tank, I can use it for other reps if I decide to. I think I will def grout and seal the tile in her custom enclosure when I build it. Thanks for the help!
What tiles are you using, if you don't mind me asking? I'm currently building a custom viv and I'm thinking slate flooring tiles, but they're pretty heavy for their size.
