I am upgrading our terrarium now and replacing the paper towels with tile. The new viv is 36"L x 17"W x 18"H. The temp under basking light is between 100-103. However, the tile flooring we put down is scorching hot. The basking light is just about screen level, so 18" from tile. Anyone else have this problem? And how did you correct it?
Does the type of tile matter? I can't raise the light. I just got the temps perfect in the viv. I can't make the viv cooler just to accommodate the tile.
Thanks for the help guys. It's been a struggle and my little guy arrives today! I like the cork idea. And that blanket is adorable!! I've got a blanket down temporarily while we fine tune the temps.
Thanks again!
Rock appearance dark coloured textured tiles everywhere other than directly under the basking spot where the best are bright glossy reflective white tiles ( will reflect much of the heat rather than absorb it ).
