Thoughts on going away for a few days?

hey guys! So I have a 3 month old baby dragon. Her name is Cookie. She’s doing very well… as she’s double, (if not triple) the size of the ones in the pet store who are months older than her. She loves eating everything! Anyway, I plan on going away in march for a few days. I got her from a very reputable breeder who told me that if I want to go away, I can make sure there’s no food in her belly, give her water, and cover her tank with a blanket and she’ll just sleep as long as it’s dark. At first I was like whoa are you sure? But these are the experts who breed and ship thousands of dragons per year… and it kind of beats having to rely on anyone to feed her and clean her poop…

What are your thoughts on this? By then she’ll be almost 6 months old.. and probably even bigger. I semi-tested this on Christmas because I was gone all day and didn’t want to force feed her early in the morning.. and she was completely fine and still sleeping when I came home 8 hours later. It’s def the easier option. And she’ll be sleeping so wouldn’t missing me! Has anyone tried this method?

How many days will you be gone ? You can do that or you can put her lights on a timer and leave a lot of salad in a bowl and some insects in another escape proof bowl. Cookie looks great, she probably will be a big girl at 6 months.

Thank you!! I will be gone for only 4-5 days.. her lights are already on a timer actually.. but what about cleaning up poop?

O.K I was thinking a 3 day weekend but 4-5 days might be a bit much. The blanket over cage would work if you need to do it or if you can't get someone to check on her.

True. Wouldn’t salad in a bowl go bad after a while? It always wilts in the light..
