My dragons wont eat them once they become black.
I just ordered about 200 worms from Heidi and only got to use about 50 of them b/c the rest went black and they wont eat em. What do you do w/ yours? some of mine are still moving but the dragons wont eat them! I guess I just toss the entire container into the trash?
If your pooper wont eat them, can you breed them? Other wise I would just toss the container then. Or you may be able to sell them to somebody to breed them, not sure though.
That really stinks that your beardie wont eat them if they are black. They turn black as they mature and are getting closer to turning into a black soldier fly. Supposidly, the darker they are, the higher they are in calcium.
I would suggest buying a P. Worms from The Phoenix Worm Store instead of another seller. This way you know your worms are as fresh as they can get and have not been sitting around for a long time. Also, the older the worms, the closer they are to turning black. Medium and large worms are probably going to have some black ones.
I find that my P. Worms will only go a couple of weeks at the most before they start all maturing and turning black. :-/
