My bro and I FINALLY finished my first DIY enclosure. We used a 10 ply 3/4 inch plywood which was $47. I wanted to make a cage out of the norm, so instead of a 4x2x2 i decided to make a 3x3x2. (on a side note HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) lol... i wanted my enclosure to be viewable from my bed and my desk chair so we made a stand out of 2x4s. the plywood made up the two sides, bottom, and top. to sturdy the sides i put 2x2s in all four corners.then i put 2x4s in between the 2x2s where the glass was going so i could put any kind of substrate.. after screwing the bottom piece of plywood into the enclosure we drilled the enclosure onto the stand so i could easily take it apart for moving if needed. We order glass from a local glass company 6 miles away from my house. The glass ended up costing $65 for 2 panes cut to my exact measurements.i don't have the substrate yet but i also am making a huge foam rock that will wrap around the cage plus foam rock walls.well enough talking here are some pics

FINALLY DONE!!!!!!!!!!! glass in place and ready for the interior design
i would but you live kinda far lol shipping would be a bit much..haha...this morning i went to home depot and got grout some sealer and a can of great stuff to make the fake rock so far its looking good i just need to wait for the grout to dry then seal it.i will try and post pics tom
So as far as lighting what did you use. Is that a 24in strip light or 18in? What you got going in the basking dome a regular flood or a MVB. Looks good can't wait to see the rest of it once its done. So you cut 2-3x3 and 2-2x3 correct? Oh and that 10ply did that have 2 good sides(sanded) or just one?
i used a 24 inch strip and for the basking i just have a regular lamp...im gonna try and post pics of everything tom cause i have been a little busy.. as for the 3x3s i had 2 but ended up only using one just for the bottom and made the top out of half of the other piece and then the other half was 2 inch strips of the remaining piece... that ended up being the screen top if you look at the pics of the top. and the plywood had a birch veneer on it and it was very good..i had a one inch thick piece of it and i tried to break it. it took some serious hitting to finally break it. for $47 its gonna last a long time... i also just made a hammock out of old jeans lol its actually pretty sick!!!!!!!
