Today Ken and I went to the Southern Ohio Reptile show. The reptile show was held inside a huge indoor flea market. It I think was their 4th year for the show. The show itself was fairly small, only around 10 tables. However there was one table in which Chris Homan from Red Apple Reptiles had LOTS of babies. He had a variety of different breeds and ages. But none the less some very beautiful friendly babies. Well at first I wasn't allowed to get one, cause we were supposed to be waiting till we get the new house and get settled in. But after persistent pouting Ken caved and asked if i wanted the baby before we left. Never thought he would but he did. I have such a loving man.
And here is the result........
Our new baby......
Her (we were told) tail is getting ready to shed, but she is an amazing red and black. Some beautiful markings.
We still have not named her, cant decide. (have any ideas?)
Omg look at those colors!!!!! What is her personality like?? I can give you tons of ideas for names...both male and female to be safe if you like. I was an aspiring writer and love names!! Afterall, my kids names are different. Salem Kiah, Rhys Douglas Parker and Broox Finnley. 2 boys and a girl.
I think I am stearing towards Ember as a name. The pictures I posted really do not do her justice on her color. Ken and I agree. However I didn't want to stress her too bad. Her first night in her new home went well, she poo'd and slept all night. This morning she ate around 8 mini supers. We put some salad in there, however she is a baby so probably wont eat any. MeatHead I think is handling this ok too. lol Maybe slightly jealous, be she gets plenty of love too. She can see her, but are on opposite sides of the living room. Ken said something about building a double stack viv for them when we move. Which will be perfect timing cause she will be around the age to need to be out of the 20 gal we have her in. For right now that is all of an update I have, have to go to work. Blah.
So I think Ember will be a very happy edition to our family.
Love the name!!! Ember was going to be the middle name of our baby if it was a girl. Ophelia Ember to be exact. I love it!! She is so cute!!! Good luck!!
I will definitely be posting more pictures as she gets older. She is eating fairly well, and adjusting to her new home. She sill has some stress marks though. She does let me hold her and everything too. Ken and I have decided on Cora for her name, he said she reminds him of a piece of bright red coral. I think it suits her. She is such a cutie.
This is from her bath today. I am giving her baths in her viv for now cause she is still skittish. Fortunately her breeder gave his beardies baths a couple times a week, surprisingly she knew how to drink already and everything.
