I got a new female bearded dragon who’s about 2 years old from a friend . Her tempature on her basking area is reading about 108-115 . She doesn’t seem to be bothered by it but I’ve read that for adults it should range around 80-90. I’m worried if I change her bulbs it could cause stress since she’s used to this heat . Will leaving her bulbs the way they are so any harm ?
No basking area should be that low, 80-90 is definitely too low for any basking reptile.
115 is a bit too high, 108 is fine. Just keep the basking temp within 100-110 and no higher.
With adult beardies, one can get away with having the dragons basking spot in the 90s. With babies and juveniles, since they're consuming a lot more protein and food in general, high 90s up to a little over a 100 is a good temp, just to be safe.
