We tend to call our beardies multiple names, it's a known thing but Lucy it is.

Now about the bite....... it's your fault not Lucy's fault lol

Just kidding, she is just securing the prize

Interesting, I heard something similar on our local social network. But everything was much harsher there.
(I translated the owner's story)
The dragon was 4 months old, everything was fine with the conditions.
At first, he bit during feeding, even after he had eaten his fill.
Then he started to pinch when he climbed into my arms, he would climb in, sit for a while and pinch. He asked to be picked up, he climbs onto my arm so that I could pick him up, instead of sitting quietly, he bites, and then runs away to hide behind a snag.
Plus, he started to impose his own order in the terrarium, the wire from the thermometer constantly gets in his way, he tries to move the stones, throws food that he doesn't like and a bowl after eating.
This still happens, so Lucy still behaves quite correctly lol.
That's actually an easy fix. It would require another Dragon (in safe conditions of course) so he can watch and see how he is supposed to behave. Everyone laughs at me when I tell them this, but I have rehabilitated many a spicy dragon by letting another dragon show them how they are supposed to behave. They're still going to have that feisty personality, but they will behave better with their humans.

I have 3 others. She trys to attack them, never mind 2 are big enough to swallow her whole lol.
She's fine being held, she isn't mean at all toward us, just gets insanely excited about bugs.
She is extremely interactive and inquisitive. One recliner reclines back past the end of her habitat, she sits in that corner to be near us. She is quite sweet except when food is involved lol.

I've noticed something else also. @ChileanTaco calls herself (bug bringer) Lucy realizes that I'm the person the feeds her.
She checks Christina's hands for bugs then becomes interactive with her.
She actually chases my hands and hardly looks up at me. I tried an experiment this morning. I walked back in forth in front of her habitat at about 8 foot away. I did this like 10 times. She stalked me across the front of her habitat every trip. When Christina did the same she just watched her without moving. (she had already been fed and was not hungry)
I keep saying they are a lot smarter than people give them credit for. I'm absolutely sure of it. (Except Sinatra, it's a good thing he's handsome cause he sure isn't all that bright lol. I love him anyways πŸ™‚)

Actually, both me and my husband feed Taco. I'm the person putting in the bowl in the morning, but my husband gives extras (he knows how much is okay) from time to time during the day. We did this especially for bonding, as he was initially not very much into having a reptile plus he was really afraid of the bugs, and so Taco then bonded stronger* with me.
Since a few months he's now doing this regularly, like an extra bug and/or cuddles each day or each few days.
(Plus, from time to time my husband is the person who puts in the bowl in the morning for many days in a row, as I travel quite a lot for work. There are sometimes one or two months where I might come home each two weeks for a few days but not more.)

So, Taco knows both of us have the ability to reach down to those bug boxes, grab some and give them to him :D The difference was/ is more regarding trust whether to dare to take a bug from the hand.

* For that bonding, I guess feeding was not the most important part. He started taking insects from me, and later from my husband, once he felt secure around that person. Bonding seemed to be more about: Feeling secure, daring to not hide when chores are done outside and inside of the enclosure, and then daring to grab an insect from the hand which was for a long time a no-no for Taco likely as it felt for him like stealing food from a bigger one. Some animals / pets can be convinced you're a good one by offering food from the hand - he's more like he takes it from your hand once he knows you're a good being.

Lucy is nearly impossible to hand feed. Even putting a bowl in may get ya bitten. Even the bowl gets bitten most mornings.
Christina does feeder her treats some. But she knows I'm the one bringing a meal.
Once she sees flat palms with no bugs I can pick her up, but if I just walk up and reach in quickly I'm probably nipped at a minimum. And again she isn't being mean, she is just always that excited for food.

Today... I fed Taco one superworm. One - as when there are zero insects, he tends to not leave his cave/ retreats into a cave. So "no bug day" is currently "one bug day", but on multiple days.
He looked into the bowl, ate that worm, then looked intensively at me while I ate breakfast with his "human, you have a job to do!" look. I gave no additional worm (obviously). He then puffed up his beard a bit (orange-colored), not really mad, but "looook!" I petted his face - no worm - and left for work :D

(I was, however, never bitten by him.)

Mine isn't doing this, but thermometers aren't his thing. Means: tries to remove them. Since he was little.
So I just put it in briefly when necessary and remove it afterwards.
Yeah, Kai thinks the probe is a tasty worm so I do the same!
