Very nice set up and wow, huge space for the little dude. :) Hopefully he gets enough uvb exposure, be sure to watch for that. Really nice though !

I’m really worried about that. I can’t get my hands on what I want right now. Seems it’s going to be a while before I can get my hands on some ARCADIA lights so I’m running reptisuns on both cages right now.

He’s been chilling under the UV at least. He seems to like laying on that log.

He’s also eating me out of house and home. He’s up to 17 grams from the 11grams he was when I brought him home

Shotos gotten a LOT bigger than I thought he was going to be and shows no signs of slowing down growth wise. He came to work the other week to recheck his X-rays to insure his tail nub is still stable. So far so good!

Hello,

I am glad to hear he is doing well! Did the vet have any comments on the mineralization spots
on the x-rays? Just wondered, hopefully the bone density is on par. It looks like he has really
grown!

Hi Tracie,

We are both pretty sure that’s from an adult male roach he decided to devour that was coated in calcium. He wasn’t supposed to get that male as it’s a bit to big. Teach me to have him out while I’m prepping food.

We only think this since he pooped while at work and we took a second shot and the spots had moved, plus his poop had roach wings in it. Other wise beyond that we are not to sure what it could have been.

Here’s a before and after.

Those are pretty interesting photos! Hopefully the areas noted are just due to eating roaches. Really lights up the GI tract and shows where everything is. Perhaps the roach was coated in Barium Sulfate ;)

You know, we just got a new bottle of it in. I could do a barium X-ray with my adult female one day for fun 🤣

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
