I'm so sorry to hear this ! :(
Can you try to borrow from any friends or family ? Will any of the vets take a lump sum and then payments ? Can you start a crowdfunder like Gofundme animals ?
Good morning so blues tail doesn’t look as bad as I thought part of it has shrivelled as it’s dead but where I put the pen mark it hasn’t travelled past this it’s still light coloured I’ve been giving him he’s antibiotics and bathing he’s tail in Lodin three times a day still

We do live blue so much and we have tried asking family and friends unfortunately they don’t see the way we see things (which is horrible I know) and I wouldn’t know where to start with a go fund me etc

Hello,

Oh no, that is quite expensive. They wont work with you at all? They should at least let you pay in installments due to the imminent need to have the surgery done.
I know this has to be very frustrating indeed.
Let us know how things are going.

We said to them about installments and they wouldn’t unfortunately it’s so wrong!

We would have been over the moon to do that we would have been able to get £300 then pay rest in instalments, we mentioned this but nothing they didn’t wanna know.

Blue is doing fine blues still eating and being amazing I feel everytime blue looks at me she’s giving me a look and I feel so guilty

Hello,

As AHBD stated, Blue should be perfectly fine. I
hope they are able to get the amputation done
soon. Lots of dragon get by without all of their
tail, no problem.
Let us know how he is doing.

Tracie
Hey tracie I have started a crowdfundme what abhd said that could be done would I be allowed to post a thread on this or is it not allowed?

I wanted to ask before I done anything as I didn’t want to get into any trouble but here is the link

That's good, hopefully you'll get some help ! Of course the average person cares far more about a cat or dog but hopefully there will be some reptile people that understand.

That's what I thought and I worry about ......if it was just the end you could maybe deal with it yourself but the fear is that the bent area is affected . I'm not positive that it is but it's possible. Let's hope that it isn't.

Hello,

That is what I have been wondering as well. How long has the tail been bent at that angle?
It sounds like Blue had a great day, eating well. Is she pretty active also?

I thought I replied the other day but it doesn’t seem to be showing, blues tail has always been like this we thought it could be due to a lighting issue hence the reason why we updated blues lighting, blue also hurts calcium with he’s live crickets/locusts

Blue is currently doing really well just waiting for the dead part to drop off the dark part hasn’t travelled blue seems okay blue is eating and also very active! Which is a good sign I am still giving blue the antibiotics etc just to be on the safe side

Kind regards Peter

Hello Peter,

Great, I hope that the infection has halted & doesn't travel upwards on the tail. How much longer
will Blue have to be on the antibiotics?
There are many dragons with deviations of the tail, that don't have any issues. So, it must have
been a birth defect then? Perhaps he injured it & it didn't self correct, or he didn't get adequate
calcium or UVB exposure when he was younger.
I am glad to hear he is active & eating well!

It's good to hear that Blue is still doing well. :) They can have an infection half way up the tail and still act fine. They don't feel much pain at all in the tail. It can still carry the infection under the scales though and that's the dangerous part.
