Hello,

As AHBD stated, Blue should be perfectly fine. I
hope they are able to get the amputation done
soon. Lots of dragon get by without all of their
tail, no problem.
Let us know how he is doing.

So morning everyone bit of a update blues dead part of the tail fell off last night I will attach some photos, the vet told me to keep applying the “flamazine” cream after bathing it in “lodine” , I have also been giving him he’s medication “co trimoxazole” and “metacam”

I would like to ask here to if you feel this is the correct thing to do the wound isn’t fleshy if you know what I mean it also doesn’t look “sore” my thoughts would be keep it dry and keep giving the antibiotics and pain meds??

Unfortunately it is. You'll need amputation about 1/3 inch above where the bad part ends. Beardie's do very well with amputation and are often eating the same or the next day. And you should have it done ASAP, there is infection that will travel up the tail under the scales very quickly and can eventually cause death.
Hey mate I’m going to add a photo here of blues tail it looks dark from the sore part to about an inch and half up is this spreading? I’m just so worried and I see him in different lightings and get mixed feelings about it any knowledge/help is really appreciated

So the cream is on the tail end but can you post a pic without the cream ? If you don't want to wipe it off now that's O.K.
With a situation like this it's unknown if the tissue under the scales going up the tail is dying right now, especially since there a curve in the tail indicating some sort of trauma there. The way to be sure to get all the bad tissue is still to cut that up higher.
And I've heard that those Facebook pages are full of rude, know it all gatekeepers . Let them stroke each other's egos.

Hello,

That lower part does looks suspicious. There is
a portion that will need to come off so that it doesn't continue going upwards & getting infected.
I don't think the cream alone will do it. Once the
infection has set in it is pretty hard to get it under
control without amputating the infected portion.
I agree that a lot of the Facebook forums are full
of very rude people, not sure what their issues are
but it isn't good.
Let us know how she is doing.

Oh good, they will get him in right away ! The price seems about what Google says and of course every vet is different . Make sure they cut above where the crooked part, it may be where the dead tissue goes up to [ remember this travels under the scales] and it's better to get all of it so they don't have to fool with it later in time. Remember, this is an easy operation and he will do fine .

Hi Peter hope all went well , eagerly awaiting the update !
good morning just a quick update the vets wanted around the £650 mark and that’s not included with the consultation fee or any of the meds for after, we have called a handful of vets and unfortunately myself and my partner have not got that kind of money and it’s heart breaking because blue is a family member we haven’t got any other ideas in regards to helping him so we don’t know what to do now,

Where I put the pen mark the dark part has travelled past this around 5/10ml which isn’t a good sign I’m just trying to be honest guys I really don’t know what to do

I'm so sorry to hear this ! :(
Can you try to borrow from any friends or family ? Will any of the vets take a lump sum and then payments ? Can you start a crowdfunder like Gofundme animals ?

Hello,

Oh no, that is quite expensive. They wont work with you at all? They should at least let you pay in installments due to the imminent need to have the surgery done.
I know this has to be very frustrating indeed.
Let us know how things are going.
