I hope everyone is healthy and safe during this time.
I recently noticed that my beardie's tail looks a little off and was wondering if any of you guys have any advice onto what may have caused it and how I can help him cure it.
I have attached some photos below for you to see, both from the front and from the back.

Thank you so much and hope you all have a wonderful day <3
Info on tail rot
Causes of tail rot are:
1. Injuries/trauma - caused by falls, or by any other bearded dragon.
2. Malnourished - make sure he has a balanced diet and he gets the nourishment he needs
How to identify tail rot:
1. Dried out - Decaying tail won't be able to retain moisture, check if it's dried out completely.
2. Very thin, brittle - Decaying tail won't be able to process nourishment, causing it to become more thin and brittle.
What to do after finding out it has a tail rot:
1. Go to a vet - very recommended
To me that first pic does not look good --- we need Tracie or AHBD to look at it -- I am gonna flag this post

Hi there, did another dragon or animal possibly get a hold of it ? It really looks like infection going on , for now you can soak it in a betadine/water solution every day and after it's dried put either Neosporin or raw honey on it. If it continues to get worse you'd need to have it amputated quickly before the infection turns systemic.
I agree, it definitely looks like something going on. It is possible some retained shed has
caused this if his tail didn't get pinched, etc because of the indentation on that area.
As suggested, soaking it in the diluted betadine solution along with putting some raw,
unpasteurized or manuka honey on it, or some antibiotic ointment on the areas daily. You
will need to watch the darkness to be sure that it doesn't travel further up the tail. Is he
acting ill at all, or does he have a good appetite?
