Tail rot or shedding?

I just got my bearded dragon and I wanted to make sure he does not have tail rot as his tail looks darker than the rest of him. The owner did say he was shedding so it may be normal as a first time owner I am not sure.

Hi Avery, it isn't tail rot but there's a tiny nick at the end so keep an eye on. You can dab Neosporin on it and it should be fine.
