Tail rot/infection??

Hi, i rehomed an 8 week old beardy yesterday. I was told he had an injury which had caused him to lose part of the tail and resulted in tail rot which had been treated and healed correctly. However i have no experience of tail rot and it looks pretty black to me?? Any advice will be greatly recieved, thank you.
