Hi all, my 1 year old male bearded dragon has pulled some scales off his tail today in just one spot but underneath is just white skin so I don't think he was ready to shed just yet, I noticed half of it came off at first and then within half an hour I found more peeled off in his vivarium, his tail seems to look fine besides this so I'm hoping it's not tail rot as that seems to look different from what I have seen? I was just wondering if there was anything I could do to help him before I try take him to the vets or if anyone has experienced this too? Thanks
These pictures aren't loading up friend. Whenever I have a problem with my beauty skin I put Manuka honey on it. Hadn't seen the pics but hope that helps
If there was ANY bleeding, that should get treated. If it looked black or red, then it probably got infected. What you can do is put some honey on it for a few weeks.
How is the tail looking today? As suggested, using the raw unpasteurized honey should help if there is any type of bacteria it should clear up nicely.
Feel free to post pictures as the area heals up.
