Taela bird ... not a beardie, but brother to a beardie, and most beloved

Needing some love to help with the healing of the heart right now. The kiddo and I made the heart wrenching decision to take Taela in to the vet to cross the rainbow bridge the morning of 1/30/2025. We knew this was coming, he was like an old man snoozing in a lazy boy recliner under an afgan throw for the majority of the day. We had him under pallative care taking multiple pain medications. But when he rapidly declined over night and spent the morning sleeping flat on Tori's desk under her blanket, there was no way to question things any longer. He has been sent off to Valhalla on a pyre in the back yard like his older sister, Koori. (He is not in that fire photo, we sent him off later.)

Love, hug, snuggle, and care for all of your animals while you can. You never know how much time you have left.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I know you love your pets dearly. It leaves a big gaping hole in your heart to loose them and I feel so bad for you guys. You really and truly have my deepest condolences if I was there I'd be giving you guys the biggest hugs and support.

RIP, little blue Taela... Reminds me when I had to say the final goodbye to my birds. They were family members, of course, so much.
I'm sure you keep your little one so much in your memory.

Tori was able bring herself to deep clean his cages today. When she's ready, we'll be finding another to rescue. She has plans to add to her memorial tattoo she got for Koori. The feather was drawn off an actual feather of hers, and she has one of Taela's set aside.
