Hello! I am in the process of building a melamine 4x2x2 enclosure for my 9 month old bearded dragon. Currently, I have a 40 gallon glass tank with the dual dome fixture on top.
I believe I am going to build the enclosure with a mesh top like chicken wire or expanded metal with large openings. Would a 36" Zoo Med T5HO hood be acceptable mounted on top with a 10.0 bulb?
Hi there, the reptisun 10.0s effective range is really only around 12 inches or so. So if you can make your basking site that tall, it will work. Otherwise you'll want to go with the Arcadia 14% as it is stronger and will be effective much lower into the tank. That way you dont need an abnormally tall basking spot.
However I'd recommend just making a wooden top and mounting your lights to the ceiling of the enclosure.
Okay that's good to know. What type of UVB fixture would you recommend to be attached to the roof of the wood top? And what type of basking fixture? Thanks!

Also, I was looking at Sunblaster Nano on Amazon for the UVB fixture if I mount it to the ceiling of the enclosure. Would 24" or 36" be ideal for a 4x2x2?
I would get the 24" fixture -- we recommend only 2/3 of the tank --- you dont want him hiding from the UVB and he needs to be able to escape the rays if he wants
