Swollen front foot

Hey guys! I have a baby bearded (Dahlia) , around 3-4 months, I've had her for about a month. Her left are is VERY swollen, to the point where she doesn't move much because of it. I took her to a specialist (not vet) who thought it may be MBD however a vet later that night took x-rays and they showed no sign of it. She's not eating much just any meal worm and kale that I put directly in front of her. She does have a "Roommate" Juniper around 6 months old who is having no issues. That are also both females. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated

Please separate them ASAP-- it's possible that the older one has bitten her- dragons should never be kept together and the little one will not get the UVB she needs - dragons need their own space- put her in a 20 gallon tote or tank - she's gonna need her own uvb NO COILS-- bright white basking bulb and a digital probe thermometer - temps should be 105-110- for her to heal she is going to need these ASAP-- please get a long tube fixture like a Zoo Med 24" you can use the 5.0 bulb that comes w/ that fixture on a 20 gallon tank--- please post a pic if her and the arm - please post back on here with the set up so we can help more- please no more meal worms please get some crickets or dubia roaches and dust them w/ calcium D 3

This is her foot, I tried crickets but she couldn't catch them and roaches are illegal to own in Canada (based on the reach that I have done.
I also have a camera on Juniper and Dahlia at all times in the 75gal, and Juniper has never shown and aggression towards Dahlia

Hi there, I don't see much difference in the feet from that pic, can you post a couple more ? Also VERY important, pics of the entire set up including lights. A tip to help her catch crickets is either feed them by hand or put the cricks in a jar + shake them hard until they are slow + dazed. Then just drop 1-2 at a time near her. She is underweight and mealworms aren't a good staple, of course they are better than nothing. It's also possible that the other dragon did get a small bite on her that you didn't see, you can't watch them every minute and if you have a hammock it's also possible that she caught her claw in + twisted her leg. So please post pics of entire set up + lighting, that would be very helpful !

Hello,

To me, both front wrists/hands appear swollen. How long has there been swelling present?
I think she might be developing gout possibly.
Are you using calcium without D3 also, or just with D3?
Is she housed alone, or she is housed with the other dragon?
I do recommend upgrading your UVB lighting though. For now, if you can get some black or
tart cherry juice extract, you can get her started on that in case she is having some kind of
kidney issues.

Hey Tracie,
The swelling has been there since the end of July, as soon as I saw it I took her to the vet ( not the best vet in the area just the only one I could get into). They took x-rays and said nothing is wrong however they were having difficulties seeing her bones.
I use calcium without d3, I put it on the meal worms as well as their greens.
She is housed in a 74gal with another female who is a little bit bigger (she is ok so signs of anything going on with her)
I use a 36" UVB bulb that goes across 3/4 of the tank. It is only about a month old.
I looked at 4 different stores this morning and everywhere was sold out of cherry extract, I was able to find cherry extract concentrate, will that work for now? After I posted that photo I also noticed swelling on the opposite hand in the longer finger. Could that also be a sign of gout?

Hello,

Which tube UVB are you using, what brand is it? How close is it to her, is it mounted on
top of the screen or below the screen?
The cherry extract concentrate is fine, so you can use that. Just give 1ml daily, either mixed
with a little bit of water or straight.
They didn't do a blood test? If the bones were hard to see in that area, it could have just been
due to the swelling or water around those areas. If you can get a copy of the x-rays to see
that would be great. When a finger starts swelling, that usually indicates gout or the start of
it anyway.
She is probably getting adequate calcium, if she is eating enough. I am not sure why she
would have developed gout but sometimes genetics do contribute to that. How many insects
weekly do you give her? Since she can't catch the crickets, you could try putting them in a bowl
& put them in the fridge for a few minutes to slow them down. That might help.
