Hey all, I've had my beardie draconius only for a couple days, and I can already tell that feeding him crickets will drive me insane. The little things jump everywhere and drive me insane trying to get enough to feed him. When would it be okay to switch draco to a type of worm (phoenix or repti)? Should he remain eating crickets for excersise or hunting skills? I'm new to all this, so any advice from you pros woulbe great
I switched my baby off crickets the day I got him. His main staple bug is reptiworms, baby lobster roaches and butterworms. He is growing like a weed ! Also if you choose reptiworms you dont have to dust with calcium powder cuz they get it from the worms. You would just need to dust with vitamins.
I tried to switch him off yesterday, and he seemed pretty upset and wouldnt even go near his food dish. So I placed a bunch of them directly on top of his cave where he likes to bask. I left him alone and came back later to see them all disapeared. Seems like he got hungry enough to give them a try.
My baby loves dubia roaches, which are a good choice if he doesn't like worms (Malygos won't even eat waxworms. He's a butt.). They're pretty easy to breed so once the colony gets going, you won't have to buy any feeders unless you want to get him a treat. They're kind of gross at first but you get used to them.
