My beardie, Senua, was impacted (I’m pretty sure), she hadn’t pooped in a few weeks. Last night I took some advice from this site to run a warm bath and massage her tummy for 30 minutes. Well, that worked! Yay!
It was a large poop, and it looked painful for her. I felt bad, but I’m happy she went at least.
I’m curious what to do now?
This morning she ate her salad (collard greens and broccoli) and seemed a little more like herself. She was hiding under her log not moving much for awhile, but today she was on top and seemed a little more energetic. Also, it’s the first time she actually ate some leafy greens in awhile.
Is Senua good to go now? Is there anything else I should be doing?
I bought her a new home, and that is arriving today. I was using small wood chip substrate (as recommended by my exotic pet store owner) but I think I’ll be moving toward tile or newspaper or something else.
Idk what caused this impaction, I suspect she ingested some substrate, or maybe I gave her too many strawberries. I’m not sure, but either way I’m eliminating both of those moving forward.
Sometimes adults can go a few weeks in between poos. They really can slow down as they get older.
I would try to add some more variety and healthy options to her salads since it should be the bulk of her diet if shes an adult.
