Looking for advise on supplements. Laz is 3-4 months old now. Primary diet is dubias about 10-12 a day. Phoenix worms around 40. Hornworms here and there, and these are just averages depending on what he/she wants between 3 feedings. Always offer fruits/veggies first but doesn't eat those enough yet but that will change soon. For fruits and veggies different squashs, collard greens, bell peppers, celery, blackberries, apples, peaches, guava. Only dust fruits/veggies every 4th day for 1 feeding and dubias once a week and will cut back the amount of worms that day. Given the amount of phoenix worms is that still necessary? The cal/D3 is Exo Terra. Is any other vitamin supplement needed? Or a better cal/D3 option?
Husbandry is 75w basking, Reptisun T5 10.0 HO in 48Lx24Wx18H enclosure. Temps are all good 105 basking mid to upper 90s gradient around basking area and 80-82 cool side. Use multiple probe thermometers and IR gun. Sorry the questions are buried in all this other info, I know everyone here is very helpful and will usually ask about all that. Thank you in advance!
I don't bother dusting my salads because as long as they have a good variety they contain lots of vitamins and minerals on their own. The supplements go to the bugs. I dust bugs in either calcium or multivitamin at every feeding (except Phoenix Worms, they just get dusted when I'm adding multivitamin). Since you have a high output UVB light, you probably don't need D3 supplement. The higher levels of UVB should allow for natural D3 synthesis. I use a plain calcium supplement. There are a lot of good supplement options so I wouldn't worry too much about that. I use Repashy Supervite and Supercal NoD and they work well.
