Is it okay to feed a juvenile beardie (14" long) small sized supers? I buy them from someone who specifically sells me ones that are 1/4"-1/2". My beardie really likes them and I heard that they're better than meal worms but I've also heard not to feed them supers until they are at least 17"...
It should be fine, but only 2-3 max per feeding or really only once a week as they, and what ive personally experienced is that they are super addictive for beardies and they will refuse everything but that. My two adults that i have were eating superworms when they were around 6 months along with crickets but then suddenly refused salads and crickets, basically any healthy staple foods and i didnt want them starving so i kept and kept giving them superworms and then finally i got them back on crickets and roaches a few months ago. Their still picky about their salads but are warming up to them.
Personally i wouldnt feed it at all since they are one of the worst feeders out there for beardies and beardies tend to, in my experience refuse anything but that once given large amounts. Their basically only fat, which if given too much can lead to fatty liver disease.
