Super worm substrate

Hello I recently went on a trip and while I was gone I had someone take care of loco( my pet) and while I was gone he mostly ate crickets. When I came back I cleaned his enclosure and I was about to feed his one super worms but I must have let some greens in there and now the bran is a brownish color and it smells like humid dirt, I was wondering what this was and if it could hurt loco

Probably mold, I'd toss the substrate and put new bran or oats in there.

Yeah. If you check along the sides and down towards the bottom of the container, you may find some moist areas from condensation or leaving wet veggies (squash? apples?) in there for too long. Either way, oatmeal is pretty inexpensive. Might as well change the substrate.

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
