First of all, out of all the dragons he is the dominate one. He is the one that will head bob and try to prove he is the man. However, today he has been arm waving like a crazy lizard. Each day he usually has some time running around my desk which leads to the window sill, which he loves. He kept stopping and arm waving over and over.
Now, he's back in his tank and he's been arm waving off and on all day. It's strange. I don't even know what he is arm waving to. I guess in the tank it could be reflection? On my desk I have no clue. Is there any other reason they would do this? He's doing it quite a lot. Do you think I should cover 3 sides of his tank? Could this be a reflection issue?
I keep 3 sides of my beardie's enclosure covered, to add to the feeling of security. It's especially important when they're young. If they can see out of the sides, they will feel like they're out in the open and trapped; this may or may not have to do with the arm waving. Do you have any pictures, posters, background on your computer, etc of another beardie? If he can see it, that may be the case
You say of all the dragons. Does he live alone or in a tank with the others?
Arm waving is a sign of submission. It is possible that something is intimidating him.
All my dragons are housed separately and even in different rooms. I sort of felt like he was doing it to me. Over the weekend he had a choking incident and I would massage his neck and feel it frequently to see how much was still in there. I think it might have been uncomfortable for him so I was worried that he is afraid of me which made me sad. But today he seems to be back to his loving self.
I know what the arm waving means, I just can't figure out what was triggering it.
