Please help.
My bearded dragon (7 months old) went to bed happy and healthy last night. he woke up this morning with ONE side of his beard all puffy. It has now been like that for 8 hours. not any bigger but definitely not smaller. he is eating and moving around as normal.
those are corn kernels that i put there for him to eat, as he loves them. the lump is very soft to touch. when it came up it was more than 12 hours since he last ate. it has gone down a little since he had his crickets this afternoon, but the side that was puffy is a little black and the skin is a bit saggy from where it was puffed up.
what do you think it is? do i need to get him to a vet?
Are those kernals of corn there on the floor?
It is usually an issue with them holding food in their beards, or a cyst, tumor or an abscess
that has formed. Is the lump hard to the touch or soft, etc?
I would say you should consider getting him to a vet if you can, especially if it doesn't go down
on its own.

Hi Tracie,
those are corn kernels. he loves them and i was seeing fi he would eat. i have edited my post above with more info. the lump was very soft to touch and he wasn't pulling away like it was hurting. he had his regular amount of crickets this afternoon with his regular gusto. the lump seems to have gone down a little since eating. the side that was puffy seems a little grey/black compared to the side that was normal.
when it swelled, it had been 12 hrs or so since eating.
