I was at the fabric store the other day and noticed that heavy weight felt is almost the same weight and feeling as reptile carpet - and cheaper. I was thinking that if one can use towels, paper towels, or even newsprint for a BD, why not just buy the heavy weight felt and cut it to the proper size? That way, instead of cleaning the current carpet, you can just toss it out and put in a new one. And in different colours, too!!
Well, I wouldn't recommend using plain towels (if by the first towels you mentioned you mean bath towels and such). Your beardie's claws can get stuck in them and it may hurt him if he decides to run around and his claw is stuck :/ As for paper towels, yeah, that would work. My friend uses them simply because she refuses to use sand and hates cleaning the carpeting everyday or so. News paper would work well too and I think you can buy end roll of just white news paper (the ink can rub off on the beardie). I'm not too sure about whether buying the heavy weight is a good idea or not though to be honest.
Okay, thanks....I thought the same thing about the terry cloth towels; I though he might get himself stuck with his claws. But the felt basically feels the same to me.....I'll wait until I am more sure though. Maybe someone else will chime in on this question.
