Edit:EXTREMELY SORRY FOR POSTING THIS IN SLIGHTLY THE WRONG FORUM! Im new...{ So i rescued what was said to be a bearded dragon. He/She is a year and a half and only looks to be around 9.5 inches. I am aware of Rankin dragons, but i am unsure how to tell if what i have is one. So my question is, is my dragon a Rankin(or some other lizard that isn't a bearded dragon), or did i just receive a really malnourished bearded dragon(if so, can i get him back to the normal size he is supposed to be? Or is he too old to grow anymore?) Here are a few pics for info. *Also, his tail does look to be damaged at the end, the previous owner said its been like that since he got him/her.* and if anyone has any more info they could give me about anything such as his morph or what i can do to get him back in shape, i would really appreciate it..im kinda new to dragons. }
Thank you for replying! I acquired him from a lazy coworker that couldn't afford to take care of it i guess, so i bought him/her for $50. He/She is eating alright, i gave him about 25 adult crickets, and a few phoenix worms last night. What would you suggest would be the best diet schedule for this dragon? im really interested in getting him in proper shape.
At that age his diet should consist of 80% veggies and fruits and 20% insects aka protein.
As poor as he looks I would offer a little at a time until his digestive system can handle it we dont walk to shock his system.
Definitely not a rankins, poor little guy. Get him some good greens, hopefully he will eat them without too much trouble. Some good starters are endive, kale, escarole, turnip greens and collards.
Despite his bad start in life he is remarkably alert + lively looking in all the pics. e'd probably be about 11-12" if he had his tail intact. As was mentioned he'll be best off if you start him with a smaller amount of insects, maybe 7-8 medium at a time and offer a good salad every day. Be careful to not offer too many insects, 25 cricks can cause stomach upset/impaction in a dragon that is not large enough and used to such feedings. But he looks like he may recover and although he'll never be a full sized dragon he can still be a happy pet with a decent life span.

It really hard to tell but there is a good chance he will grow some. He will probably never reach his potential since he is stunted so bad though.
What he will do is bulk up and fill out.
i highly doubt this is a year and a half year old dragon. this is how mine looked at about five to six months if it is younger then it looks pretty healthy just slightly hungry.
Awe, he is a cutie even if he is missing part of his tail
In some of the photos he does look a bit dehydrated. Give him a nice warm bath. I give my beardie a bath soak with the reptisafe water conditioner, it also has electrolytes in it as well. https://zoomed.com/reptisafe-water-conditioner/
